Gig Posters from Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall

Every year, the Royal Albert Hall plays host to Teenage Cancer Trust's concerts, and each year's line-up adds to a growing collection of original gig poster artwork.

The collection stretches back to the earliest shows in 2000, taking in performances by The Who, Paul McCartney, Depeche Mode, Jimmy Page, Eddie Vedder, The Cure and many others. It's a fascinating record of the musicians who've supported the charity over the years, told through the work of the artists and designers commissioned to create their concert posters.

Some feature a single performer, others celebrate entire bands or particular concert line-ups. You'll find signed and unsigned editions, giving collectors the choice between original concert artwork and prints that also carry the signatures of the musicians involved.

The Artists Behind the Posters

There's a lot to explore here beyond the names on the concert bill.

Teenage Cancer Trust has worked with an impressive range of illustrators and graphic artists, including Mishka Westell, Dan Mumford, Luke Preece, Andy Vella, Pete McKee, Max Loeffler and Josh Townshend.

Their work covers a wide range of styles, from detailed illustration to graphic design and typography. It's part of what makes browsing the collection interesting: two posters from the same concert series can look completely different, depending on the artist commissioned to create them.

The creative process doesn't stop once the artwork is finished. The choice of paper, printing technique and finish are all carefully considered to ensure the final print does justice to the original design. From traditional multi-colour silk-screen printing to fine-art giclée and lithographic processes, each method brings something different to the finished piece.

Signed and Unsigned Limited-Edition Concert Posters

All of our gig posters are produced as limited editions, with many individually numbered and some also available as artist proofs.

For collectors interested in autographed music memorabilia, most posters have been personally signed by the performers. Others are offered unsigned, allowing the original artwork to take centre stage.
