Eddie Vedder Gig Poster

Created to celebrate Eddie Vedder's 2024 appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in support of Teenage Cancer Trust, this four-colour screen print brings together one of rock's most recognisable voices with an original piece of gig poster art.

Eddie took to the stage on 24 March as part of Ovation, a special closing night celebrating Roger Daltrey's final year as curator of the Teenage Cancer Trust concerts at the Royal Albert Hall.

Roger had been at the helm of the shows since they began in 2000, bringing together some of the biggest names in music and helping raise more than £32 million for young people with cancer over 24 years. Ovation marked the end of that remarkable chapter, with Eddie joining a line-up of long-standing supporters including Paul Weller, Robert Plant, Kelly Jones and Pete Townshend.

Eddie's set drew from across his career, combining solo material with Pearl Jam favourites and appearances from special guests including Glen Hansard and his daughter Olivia Vedder. He later returned to the stage for the night's finale, joining Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, Kelly Jones and Glen Hansard for Baba O'Riley, bringing both Ovation and Roger's 24-year run as curator to a fitting close.

The artwork was created by Josh Townshend, an illustrator, designer and musician with rock music firmly in the family. The son of musician Simon Townshend and nephew of legendary The Who guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend, Josh has developed his own distinctive visual style alongside his work in music, creating official artwork for Pearl Jam as well as a number of posters celebrating performances from Teenage Cancer Trust's history at the Royal Albert Hall.

For Eddie's 2024 show, he created a brilliantly detailed robotic musician inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. Built from guitars, speakers, microphones, amps and other pieces of musical equipment, the illustration is packed with small details to discover, all brought together in a bold palette of blue, red, black and cream.

Produced as a four-colour screen print on heavyweight 300gsm stock, the traditional printing process gives the strong blocks of colour and intricate linework a tactile quality that really suits Josh's illustration. At A2 size, there's plenty of room for the detail in the artwork to come through, making it a striking piece of wall art as well as a memento of a special night at the Royal Albert Hall.

The poster forms part of our History of Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall series, celebrating the artists and performances that have shaped the concerts since they began in 2000. There's a nice symmetry to Eddie's place in that history too: he appeared as a guest at the very first concert in 2000 and returned to the Royal Albert Hall for Ovation 24 years later.
