The Coral 2007 Royal Albert Hall Signed Screen Print

Created to celebrate The Coral's Teenage Cancer Trust performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 27 March 2007, this limited-edition screen print by Toucan Tango takes its inspiration from the band's Put the Sun Back.

The Coral appeared as special guests of Noel Gallagher that evening, returning to the stage after a period away from live performance. Alongside favourites including Dreaming of You, In the Morning and Pass It On, the band introduced new material from what would become Roots & Echoes, including Who's Gonna Find Me and Put the Sun Back.

It's the latter that provides the starting point for the artwork. Toucan Tango created a surreal desert scene dominated by a skeleton holding a tearful sun, surrounded by a raven, distant rock formations, stars and a winding red-and-black path. The Coral's name stretches across the top in huge, fluid lettering.

The restricted palette of black, red, blue and warm yellow gives the illustration the feel of a vintage psychedelic gig poster, while the unusual combination of characters and imagery gives it plenty of the eccentricity associated with The Coral.

There's a fitting local connection behind the artwork too. Toucan Tango are based in New Brighton on the Wirral, just a few miles from The Coral's home town of Hoylake, making this a collaboration between artists from the same corner of Merseyside.

Produced as a four-colour screen print on heavyweight 300gsm stock, each A2 copy is individually hand signed by James Skelly, Paul Duffy, Nick Power, Ian Skelly and Paul Molloy. Only 100 have been produced, with each print supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
