Wunderhorse Deer Shed Festival 2025 Signed Photographic Print
This signed Wunderhorse print captures frontman Jacob Slater mid-air during the band’s 2025 headline set at Deer Shed Festival near Thirsk. Shot by photographer Charlie Barclay-Harris, the black-and-white image freezes one of those split-second live moments that would be gone almost as soon as it happened: knees tucked up, guitar rising behind him, stage lights cutting through the smoke and the crowd packed tightly against the barrier.
Wunderhorse headlined Deer Shed Festival on 25 July 2025 at Baldersby Park in North Yorkshire, with a set drawing from both Cub and Midas. The photograph feels completely at home in that setting. There is a looseness to the scene, from the festival wheel glowing in the distance to the cables and stage equipment visible in the foreground, that gives it a much more immediate character than a polished arena shot.
That sense of rawness has been central to Wunderhorse from the beginning. The project started with Jacob Slater before growing into a full band, with Cub arriving in 2022 and Midas following in 2024. Their music sits somewhere between alternative rock, grunge and more melodic guitar songwriting, but it is the physicality of their live shows that has helped push them into much larger rooms and festival headline slots.
For Charlie Barclay-Harris, the timing of the photograph does much of the storytelling. Slater is caught at the highest point of the jump while the faces in the crowd remain sharp enough to anchor the image. The smoke, light and deep blacks around him give the photograph a dramatic shape without losing the messier detail of a working stage.
The image was selected for Good Energy, Teenage Cancer Trust’s series of live music photography celebrating the connection between performers and audiences. Here, that connection is visible in the simplest way possible: one musician launching himself towards a crowd that is already fully engaged.
Barclay-Harris’ photograph has been transformed into a five-layer silk screen print by White Duck Editions in Bath. Limited to 100 copies, each print is hand signed by Wunderhorse and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
