Wolf Alice Autographed Print
The Royal Albert Hall is pulled apart and rebuilt in Andy Vella's artwork for Wolf Alice's 2026 Teenage Cancer Trust show. Architecture, typography and blocks of fluorescent colour overlap across an A2 silkscreen, hand signed by the band and limited to 100 copies.
Wolf Alice headlined the final night of Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall on 29 March 2026, closing a week of concerts curated by Robert Smith. Nilüfer Yanya joined them as special guest for the Sunday night show.
It was another major Royal Albert Hall appearance for a band whose career has steadily grown in scale without losing the character that first surrounded them in London's independent music scene. From the restless guitars of debut album My Love Is Cool through Visions of a Life and Blue Weekend, Wolf Alice have moved between shoegaze, alternative rock, folkier songwriting and outright noise rather than settling into a single sound. Visions of a Life won the 2018 Mercury Prize, while Blue Weekend reached number one in the UK.
That refusal to sit neatly in one place finds an interesting counterpart in Andy Vella's design. Instead of giving Wolf Alice a conventional band image, he repeatedly layers and disrupts photographs of the Royal Albert Hall. Familiar arches, columns and windows emerge before disappearing into another section of the collage, with enormous cropped letterforms cutting across the architecture.
The palette makes it even more striking. Hot pink and red collide with black, white and muted grey, while the fluorescent pink ink gives the screen print an intensity that isn't easily reproduced on a standard printed page or screen. Look closely and there's a surprising amount buried within it, from repeated architectural details to smaller textures and shapes that only become apparent once the larger composition stops dominating your eye.
Vella was given total freedom when creating the artworks for the 2026 series. Rather than designing them as variations of one poster, he immersed himself in the individual bands, listening to their music and watching performances before developing each piece. The Wolf Alice artwork was among the individual designs approved by the artists and Robert Smith before production.
The finished piece was produced by White Duck Editions in Bath as a nine-colour silkscreen on 300gsm Arctic Matt paper, with the fluorescent layer adding another dimension to Vella's dense collage. Just 100 copies were made, each individually hand signed by Wolf Alice and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
