The Kooks Ancienne Belgique Band Signed Photographic Print
Captured by photographer Sterling Chandler at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, this limited-edition print brings The Kooks and a packed crowd together in one brilliant end-of-show photograph.
For more than 20 years, The Kooks have been a fixture of British indie. Their 2006 debut Inside In/Inside Out introduced songs including Naïve, She Moves in Her Own Way, Ooh La and Seaside, establishing the Brighton band and a catalogue that has continued to find new audiences ever since.
Behind the camera is Sterling Chandler, a British photographer and director whose work crosses music, fashion and portraiture. Chandler became British GQ's youngest editorial photographer at just 17, has worked on projects for the likes of Dazed and Gucci, and was named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 Europe list for Art & Culture in 2023.
His black-and-white photograph catches the band together at the front of the stage, with the packed Ancienne Belgique crowd rising behind them. There's something celebratory about it: the show might be over, but nobody looks quite ready to leave. Band and audience share the photograph, making it a fitting addition to Good Energy, our series celebrating the connection created through live music.
The original photograph has been recreated as a five-layer silk screen print on heavyweight 350gsm stock. At A2 size, it's a striking image, with the monochrome treatment and layered print process giving the photograph a tactile, graphic quality beyond a conventional photographic reproduction.
Only 100 prints have been produced, each individually hand signed by Luke Pritchard and Hugh Harris of The Kooks and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
