These signed Cleaners From Venus set lists come from the band’s 2026 London shows at Islington Assembly Hall, with two from the sold-out 30 September performance and one from the additional show on 5 October.
The dates marked a rare London appearance from Martin Newell’s Cleaners From Venus, with Newell joined by Nelson Surfquake Nice, an original member of the band and his former partner in The Brotherhood of Lizards. The shows drew on classic Cleaners material and also included a Brotherhood of Lizards cameo set, bringing together different strands of Newell’s long and distinctly independent career.
The Cleaners From Venus have occupied a peculiar and influential corner of British pop since the early 1980s. Much of their early music was recorded at home and released on cassette, long before lo-fi became a recognised aesthetic in its own right. Newell’s songs paired that rough-and-ready production with sharp melodies, dry humour and an unmistakably English strain of psychedelic pop, earning the band a cult following that has only grown with subsequent reissues and rediscovery.
That history gives these setlists a bit more weight than a straightforward tour souvenir. They come from two London shows that brought material written across decades back onto the stage, with the 5 October performance added after strong demand for the original date.
Each setlist has been signed and is supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.
