Nia Archives Autographed Photographic Print

$76.00

Caught beneath a single spotlight with a packed crowd behind her, Nia Archives takes centre stage in this photograph from The Warehouse Project in Manchester. Shot by photographer Tanya Hanley, it's a brilliant snapshot of the energy and atmosphere that have made Nia one of the most exciting artists to emerge from the new generation of British jungle.

Born in Bradford and raised in Leeds, Nia Archives is a producer, DJ, singer and songwriter who has brought her own distinctly personal approach to jungle. Breaking through with Sober Feels in 2020, she quickly moved from self-releasing music to packed shows and international festival stages, combining frantic breakbeats and soundsystem culture with influences stretching from soul and reggae to Britpop and alternative music.

Her 2024 debut album, Silence Is Loud, pushed that sound further, pairing the intensity of jungle with increasingly personal songwriting and earning a nomination for the Mercury Prize. Since then, Nia has continued to expand her take on the genre while keeping the communal energy of rave culture at the heart of what she does.

Hanley's photograph captures that energy beautifully. Nia is frozen in motion at the front of the stage, illuminated against the darkness while hundreds of faces, raised hands and phones fill the space behind her. The stark black and white composition and dramatic overhead light give the image an almost cinematic quality, while still feeling unmistakably like a moment taken from the middle of a rave.

Reproduced as an A2 five-layer silk screen on substantial 350gsm stock, the finished print gives that moment room to breathe. At this scale, the contrast between Nia in the foreground and the mass of people behind her becomes even more pronounced, drawing your eye first to the performer and then out across the crowd.

The print forms part of Good Energy, our series celebrating the relationship between artists and the people who come to see them. In this image, that connection isn't about physical contact between performer and audience. It's about the shared atmosphere of the room, with Nia caught in the light and the crowd very much part of the picture.

Only 100 prints have been produced, each individually hand signed by Nia Archives and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
