Mogwai 2026 Royal Albert Hall Band Signed Silkscreen Print
Created for Mogwai's headline show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2026, this limited-edition print pairs one of Scotland's most distinctive bands with original artwork by Andy Vella, produced especially for Teenage Cancer Trust and individually hand signed by Mogwai.
Formed in Glasgow in 1995, Mogwai have spent three decades exploring the possibilities of predominantly instrumental rock, moving from moments of near silence to enormous walls of sound without losing the sense of melody running through their music. Their catalogue stretches from 1997's Mogwai Young Team to their eleventh studio album, The Bad Fire, released in 2025.
The band headlined the Royal Albert Hall on 25 March 2026, joined by Craven Faults and Annika Kilkenny. The show formed part of a week of Teenage Cancer Trust concerts personally curated by Robert Smith, bringing together artists including Elbow, Manic Street Preachers, My Bloody Valentine, Garbage and Wolf Alice.
Vella's accompanying artwork is suitably uncompromising. Fluorescent pink dominates the print, colliding with blocks of black and deep purple while fragments of the Royal Albert Hall appear beneath and around them. The letters of Mogwai's name are pulled apart and dispersed through the composition, with smaller pieces of type emerging from the layers. It's dense and deliberately fractured, with details that aren't immediately apparent from a distance revealing themselves as you look closer.
That approach grew out of Vella's process for the entire 2026 series. Rather than applying a single visual formula to every performer, he listened to the bands while developing the artwork, responding to their music and combining those ideas with imagery of the Royal Albert Hall. The resulting posters share a visual language but retain their own character.
The production is particularly important to this piece. It's an eight-colour silkscreen print on heavyweight 300gsm Arctic Matt paper, finished with a bright fluorescent pink ink. Printed by White Duck Editions in Bath, the layered screen-printing process gives the different areas of colour and texture a physical presence that suits Vella's collage-like design.
Only 100 copies have been produced, each individually hand signed by Mogwai and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
Part of Teenage Cancer Trust's ongoing Royal Albert Hall music poster series, the print records a night from the 2026 concerts while standing as a substantial piece of printmaking in its own right.
