Three thoughts from Maisie Adam, brought together in this limited-edition print created with graphic artist Anthony Burrill for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Maisie's quote mixes a little genuine positivity with the offbeat humour that has made her one of the most popular comedians of her generation. Since winning the prestigious So You Think You're Funny? competition in 2017, she's become a regular presence on British television, appearing on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News for You, QI, 8 Out of 10 Cats and the Royal Variety Performance. She's also one half of the hugely popular Big Kick Energy podcast with fellow comedian Suzi Ruffell.

The words are interpreted by Anthony Burrill, a British graphic artist and printmaker known for turning simple statements into bold pieces of typographic art. His instantly recognisable work includes Work Hard & Be Nice to People, and can be found in the permanent collections of the V&A and Design Museum in London and Cooper Hewitt in New York.

Burrill's design gives Maisie's three statements plenty of space, setting them in large black type across the page. There's no illustration competing for attention and no need for one. You read the kindness, you read the positivity, and then you get to the avocado.

The artwork has been screen printed in a single colour on heavyweight 350gsm stock, giving Burrill's typography the crisp, solid finish that suits his work so well. At A3 size, it's a simple, striking piece that works equally well as contemporary graphic art or as a reminder that not every inspirational message needs to be taken entirely seriously.

The edition is limited to 100 prints, with every copy individually signed by both Maisie Adam and Anthony Burrill. Commissioned and published by Teenage Cancer Trust, every purchase helps provide specialist care and support to young people with cancer.
