Paul McCartney's Royal Albert Hall performance formed part of the annual Teenage Cancer Trust concert series, founded by Sir Roger Daltrey in 2000. The evening drew on an extraordinary catalogue spanning The Beatles, Wings and his solo career, opening with Magical Mystery Tour and featuring favourites including Junior's Farm, Maybe I'm Amazed, Blackbird, Band on the Run, Let It Be and Hey Jude, before closing with the Abbey Road medley of Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight and The End. During an unforgettable encore of Get Back, McCartney was joined on stage by Roger Daltrey, Paul Weller and Ronnie Wood. As the final notes echoed around the Royal Albert Hall, Roger Daltrey simply said, "Dreams do come true." It was a fitting way to close a remarkable evening that brought one of the greatest songwriters in history to one of the world's most celebrated charity concert series.
Produced as part of the History of Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall poster series, this Paul McCartney poster celebrates the remarkable artists who have supported Teenage Cancer Trust since the concert series was launched by Sir Roger Daltrey in 2000.
