Kasabian 2023 Royal Albert Hall Screen Print Artist Proof Signed by Serge Pizzorno
For Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall
This Kasabian signed print was created to celebrate the band’s Teenage Cancer Trust show at the Royal Albert Hall on 25 March 2023, one of several appearances Kasabian have made for the charity over the years.
This particular edition is an artist proof, produced outside the main numbered run of the artwork. Artist proofs are traditionally created for the artist or printer to check and approve a work before or alongside the final edition, and are usually made in much smaller numbers. Marked separately from the standard edition, they have their own place within the history of a print and are often particularly sought after by collectors. This proof is hand signed by Serge Pizzorno.
The artwork by James Taylor is all about impact. A stylised face dominates the centre of the image, rendered in bright orange against a deep green field, with Kasabian’s name stretched across the top in sharp, angular lettering. It has the feel of a vintage poster filtered through something more contemporary and graphic, with a deliberately restricted palette giving the image much of its strength.
By 2023, Kasabian were more than two decades into a career that had taken them from Leicester clubs to festival headline stages and multiple UK number one albums. The Royal Albert Hall show came during the The Alchemist’s Euphoria era, with Serge Pizzorno leading a set that brought newer material together with some of the band’s biggest songs, including Club Foot, Underdog, Empire, L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever) and Fire.
It was also another chapter in a long relationship between Kasabian and Teenage Cancer Trust. The band have returned to support the charity at the Royal Albert Hall on several occasions, making them one of the recurring artists in the history of the concert series.
Commissioned and published by Teenage Cancer Trust, this Kasabian Royal Albert Hall print forms part of our History of Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall series, celebrating the artists and performances that have shaped the shows since 2000.
The artwork was produced as a three-colour screen print on heavyweight 300gsm stock by Prints of Thieves in Leeds.
